Numeracy Week

Foundation Students

The Prep students are focusing on Number. This includes counting patterns, fluency and mental maths games, making collections and representing numbers in different ways.

Grade 1 and 2 students:

In numeracy, the 1 and 2 students have been focusing on data and chance!

 

Grade 3 and 4 students:

In Numeracy, the Grade 3 and 4 students have been learning how to calculate the area of objects. As a fun activity, students wrote their names on grid paper and then calculated the total area of their name. Next, we will be exploring maps and grids, where students will learn to interpret and read various map features and understand how to use grid references effectively.

Grade 5 and 6 students:

In numeracy, the grade 5 and 6 students have been looking at fractions and decimals. So far, we have learnt how to convert an improper fraction into a mixed number and vice versa. We have also learnt how to add and subtraction fractions!
