Spotlight on Science

Students have started this semester with great enthusiasm. 

Grade 1 students have now eagerly started Science and this term will see them investigating the properties of different materials.

They have started off by making metal sculptures and using language to describe what they could do to it, to make their art work. Over the next few weeks they will explore other materials and investigate what possible uses they may have based on their properties.

In Year 3 and 4, its all about forces. Students are building upon their past experiences of forces by building models and toys to explore more deeply what forces are and how they affect us in every day situations. 

Students loved investigating gravity….it really grounded them in Science.

Magnetism really brought us all together.

This term the Year 5 and 6 students are delving into chemistry. They are exploring the different types of mixtures and solutions and the only way to do that is to get messy… in a scientific kind of way. Of course, they then learn how to clean up.
