Polding Athletics

Today Friday 13th September 2024 we have three of our young people representing

St Mary of the Angels at the Polding Athletics Carnival in Glendale.

Good luck to Scarlett Newberry, Flynn McFarlane and Hugo Sisson! We wish you all the best and know that you will represent our school community and our diocese with pride. We can't wait to hear all about how you go!

Brain Olympia finals

On Wednesday 11th September, the St Mary of the Angels Brain Olympia team travelled to Gunnedah to compete in the Finals event. Our team consisted of Darcy Sisson, Catie Furphy, George Hope, Ricky Foster, Oskar Laing, Ned Newberry and Mia Waters.

After a gruelling trivia round, our team was faced with the challenge of preparing a public speaking presentation on the topic 'Being Australian'. All members contributed highly entertaining and informative ideas and put the speech together in a engaging manner. The team chose Ned to present, which he did confidently and even elicited a few laughs from a tough audience. To end the day, the team had to prepare a play that began with the words 'I've never seen anything like it in my life'. What fun they had with this topic!

Whilst we did not come home with a trophy, our team did our school proud and had a fantastic day at St Xavier's School.
