Level 1: Connect
Some reminders:
The swim program ends on Friday 23rd of August. A huge thank you to all of our Level 1 students for soldiering through the two weeks of swimming. To all the parent helpers who volunteered their time to help us on the bus and those who met us at the venue, we couldn't have run the program without your support, a huge thank you.
Maths:
In maths, students will continue exploring grouping collections of numbers. In doing his, we will use arrays and skip counting to find a total. As students continue to focus on grouping, we will examine situations where numbers can be grouped exactly as well as times when there will be a number left over.
Writing: In writing, students will continue working on their narrative writing skills. We will use CBCA shortlisted books as mentor texts throughout book week.
Literacy:
Students will continue working on their phonics knowledge, morphology and heart words.
If you would like to help your child at home:
Heart words to practice: again, our, other, some, come, out, about, says, who, were.
Reading: Read a story book with your child and together work out
- The beginning, middle and end
- What was the problem in the story
- What was the solution to that problem
