REMINDER:- Life Relationships Information Evening for all Year 5 and 6 students and their families.
Wednesday, 28th August - 7pm-8pm
KEY Presenter
Colleen Hampson (Catholic Education Sandhurst)
Venue: Our School Hall
There is a requirement for all Victorian Schools to address aspects of personal development within their core curriculum provision. Students in Years 5/6 engage in the Life Relationships Program, which has been developed in the Sandhurst Diocese.
The parent/guardian evening is designed to be delivered whilst students are engaging in the grade 5/6 Source of Life unit Life Relationships.
A note outlining this important family evening for Years 5 and 6 students has already been sent out via our PAM parent notification system. Please fill in your attendance for this night to allow us to prepare the seating arrangements.
We hope to have many parents or guardians and their children as we break open important issues regarding Life and Relationships.

Masses and Paraliturgies- Thursday, August 15th
All our students across the school participated beautifully during their class paraliturgies and the 9.15am Mass. Grateful thanks to Leadership and all the teachers for their co-ordination and participation on this very important Holy Day of Obligation.
Father Jackson with the Padderborn Cross in our Church during the Novena Masses and to celebrate 150 years anniversary of the Sandhurst Diocese
The replica Paderborn Cross was presented to the Diocese of Sandhurst in gtatitud for the privilege of ‘shoulder to shoulder ministry’ with the Bishops and Priests of Sandhurst. The Paderborn Cross is Paderborns’s oldest Christian symbol. It was discovered in a grave over 1200 years ago. Rev Dr Henry Backhaus, the first priest on the Bendigo Goldfields came from Paderborn.
At Mass if you notice the cross on our priests robes, the cross is the outline of the Padderborn Cross- commemorating the roots of our first priest of Sandhurst
Our altar servers processed in with this cross during our weekday Masses and for the Novena Masses.
Novena Masses- Altar Server THANK YOU
Thank you to our student altar servers and their families for their continued dedication and service to our Parish. Owen and Imogen Sargeant and Lucy, Caitlyn and Ella Mills demonstrated grate service on our schools behalf as they participated in Masses within our Parish across the nine day prayer service which started at 5.30 and finished around 6.30pm each night during the Novena
The Novena Masses were held in our Church to commemorate the 150 Years Anniversary of the Sandhurst Dioceses – 1874-1024.
Catholic Education Sandhurst Office Celebrates
Past and present directors of Catholic Education, Sandhurst proudly gathered to celebrate 50 fabulous years of the Catholic Education Sandhurst Office. Other members of the Catholic Education family gathered in Bendigo for a commemorative Mass and luncheon. Within our diocese we have been blessed to have all five Lay Directors with us still! These incredible individuals have led Catholic Education over the past five decades with courage, dedication and honour. Adrian Sexton, Denis Higgins, Philomena Billington, Paul Desmond and Kate Fogarty.
In 1991, when I first ventured out as a newly fledge teacher from Christ College ACU, it was a requirement that every teacher would be interviewed by the director of Catholic Education. I will never forget going into the old Sandhurst offices in Bendigo and being interviewed by Adrian Sexton. He was very reassuring and made me feel welcome to teach within the Sandhurst Diocese.
Congratulations to our Directors and Sandhurst. A wonderful milestone to celebrate together.
Kind Regards,
Leanne Pellegrino (Catholic Identity Leader)
