Focus on Learning Stage 3
Amanda Bartholomew
Over the last couple of weeks, students in Stage 3 have been busy practicing and delivering their multi-genre texts on a natural area in Australia they feel needs protecting. Students were placed into groups and were to plan, research, draft, write, confer and refine a text that was persuasive, informative and entertaining. They had to work collaboratively in groups to produce the text, a Canva presentation and then deliver this text as a formal speech to the class.
We then recorded the students presentations using our SWIVL camera. Students had the opportunity to view their recorded speeches as a group and mark themselves according to a set of criteria we had agreed upon. I was very impressed with the students ability to work productively together and deliver these outstanding speeches with increased confidence. Below are the recorded videos of the speeches. Please enjoy!
