Primary School
It was great to welcome many fathers, grandfathers and significant others to our Father’s Day Celebrations this morning. The buzz around the school grounds was just wonderful and we hope that all the visitors enjoyed their breakfast. A special thank you to the Senior Drumline and Delaney Laffy for their great performances and entertainment. We appreciate all the support from our parent volunteers who arrived early and cooked up a tasty breakfast and we would like to acknowledge the generous support from many local businesses who donated raffle prizes to the school. These events would not be possible without the support of our staff, who took on many different roles to ensure the morning ran smoothly. I would like to thank our MAG Parents & Friends volunteers for putting together another great Father’s Day Stall, stocked with locally sourced gifts.
Book Week Character Parade
Our students and staff were all extremely excited to be in costume to celebrate this year's theme of ‘Reading is Magic’ on Wednesday morning at our Primary Book Week Character Parade. There were many different costumes and books shared within each class. Many parents came along to support students in our school community which was fantastic. I would like to thank Ms Height and Miss O'Neill for organising this great event on our school calendar. These special days create lovely memories for our students, staff and families. For more photos about all the Book Week fun, please make sure you visit the Resource Centre page in this newsletter.
Primary Assembly
On Friday 23 August, the Primary School community connected at the final Primary Assembly for Term 3. I would like to congratulate Ryan Strahan and Ruby Law, for confidently running the Assembly. We enjoyed some beautiful performances from Harry Nichol on trumpet, the Jr Singers and the 4A violin group. We welcomed Mr Cadd and Mr McMahon who provided some exciting sporting updates and celebrated some amazing recent sporting achievements. Good luck to all those students who have qualified to represent the school at the upcoming CIS Athletics Carnival in Sydney on Friday 6 September.
Congratulations to the Year 2 students for their wonderful performance about Onomatopoeia. We look forward to our next Assembly on Friday 18 October when the Year 3 students will perform for us. Congratulations to the students below who received a Core Value Award for consistently displaying one or more of the School’s Core Values and Motto. Keep up the great work!

Art Room Spotlight
Our Year 5 students have just completed an exciting sewing unit where they explored the basics of stitching and fabric work. Throughout this unit, students learned a variety of fundamental stitches, including running stitch, backstitch and blanket stitch. Putting new skills to the test, each student designed and created a small softie inspired by their favourite book or movie character, using soft felt and cotton materials. This hands-on project not only taught the students valuable sewing techniques but also allowed them to express creativity in a fun and personal way. We are so proud of their hard work and the delightful softies which have been crafted. Great job, Year 5!
Stage 1 Assembly
Miss Delmenico and students from 2B hosted the Stage 1 Assembly this week. We were amazed at the confidence and the quality of the presenters in Stage 1. The students presented their parachutes that they have been learning about in their Science unit ‘Forces’. The weather had turned it on, and the blistering wind ensured that when released, these parachutes took off. This caused much excitement and laughter. We then presented the ‘Stars of the Week’ awards to our worthy recipients.

Jump Rope for Heart
Our Year 5 students are skipping throughout this term. Jump Rope for Heart is well underway, and it is great to see so many children out in the playground skipping with smiles on their faces. Our annual Jump Off Day is scheduled for Tuesday 10 September and so far, Moama Anglican Grammar has raised $764. Families who are interested in signing up, please click here and enter your details. Our skipping goal is a total of 40 hours.
Year 4 Camp
Next week, our Year 4 students will embark on an exciting adventure at PGL Campaspe Downs in the beautiful Macedon Ranges. The lead-up to camp has been filled with enthusiastic discussions as students eagerly anticipate exploring the natural bushland and participating in a variety of outdoor activities. From flying fox and archery to bushcraft and problem-solving challenges, students will have the opportunity to build teamwork, communication and leadership skills. We look forward to hearing about all their adventures when they return.
