Activating Gunbower Estate
On Monday 2 September, our Primary School Captains (Hugh Thomson, Ruby Law, Darcy Knowles-Mulholland and Isobel Jennings) and our Secondary School Captains (Ella Bowler, Isabelle Barber, Riley Main and Lucas Jettner) will be the first students to visit Gunbower Estate.
The purpose of the visit is to enable our School Captain Team, accompanied by members of the Board, Mr Geoff & Mrs Alex Kent from the G&A Kent Charitable Trust, and other senior Moama Anglican Grammar Staff to participate in a short ceremony to officially mark the activation of Gunbower Estate for student use.
During the site visit our School Captains will learn about Gunbower Estates rich history, they will participate in a Welcome Ceremony including an Acknowledgement of Country, and will undertake a guided tour of the Historic Homestead and the expansive campus grounds.
The site visit will also provide an opportunity for our students to engage with our most generous philanthropic donors, Mr Geoff and Mrs Alex Kent, whose shared vision and partnership with our school has enabled this type of educational facility to become a reality for our school community.
The activation of Gunbower Estate is a most exciting development in our school’s short history and will provide integrated learning opportunities for our students that compliment our current Academic and Pastoral curriculum delivery, whilst supporting the development of transferable life skills, wellbeing and resilience.
The next scheduled student experience at the site is an HSC Agriculture excursion, scheduled on Thursday 12 September, where students will be soil sampling and testing as part of a land capability classification exercise.
Endless new possibilities lay ahead for current and future students of Moama Anglican Grammar through this unique and most exciting development.
Imagine the possibilities!
Mr Scott Downward
Principal
