On Monday, Yarra Road Primary School came together to celebrate Book Week with our annual Dress-Up Day. The event was a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their creativity and bring their favourite book characters to life.
Throughout the day, the school was filled with a wide range of imaginative costumes. Among the highlights, we saw Harry Potter complete with his wand, Little Red Riding Hood carrying her iconic basket, and every colour crayon you could think of. Alice in Wonderland also made an appearance, as did a few mischievous Thing 1 and Thing 2s, who added some fun to the day.
One of the more surprising and memorable moments was seeing the Titanic making its way through the school—a testament to the creativity and effort our students put into their costumes.
The day was not just about dressing up; it was about celebrating the joy of reading and the stories that inspire our students. Events like these help foster a love for literature and encourage our students to engage with books in a fun and meaningful way.
Thank you to all the parents and guardians for your continued support in making these events a success. We look forward to more opportunities to celebrate and share in the excitement of learning together in the weeks ahead.

We’re inviting everyone to join our first planning meeting on Tuesday, 27th August, at 6:30 PM in the Yarra Road PS Staff Room. Whether you’re interested in being part of the 100 Years Committee, joining a smaller event planning group, or just sharing your ideas, we’d love to hear from you.
