Year 12 Information

IMPORTANT YEAR 12 INFORMATION

For Year 12 students, the year is drawing to a close, and there is a lot to do before then. Below is an outline of important information and deadlines. 

It was great to see so many Year 12 students getting involved in the recent Year 12 vs Staff competition – Soccer. This was the Year 12s first win for the year against staff! Hopefully, they can be as competitive in the final competitions of the year.

  • Unit 3-4 VCE Trial Exams
    • Thursday 19th & Friday 20th September
    • Tuesday 1st, Wednesday 2nd & Thursday 3rd October
    • Copies of these can be found on Compass
  • VTAC applications
    • Last week, VCE students attended a session to explain the VTAC process. Copies of these can be found on Compass.
    • VTAC University & TAFE timely applications close
      • Monday 30th September (5 pm)
    • SEAS & Scholarship applications close
      • Friday 11th October (5 pm)
  • Last day of VCE & VCE VM classes
    • Monday 21st October, periods 1 – 4
  • Unique program for VCE & VCE VM students
    • Monday 21st October lunch & period 5
  • Celebration Day
    • Tuesday 22nd October
    • 9.10 am Whole school assembly – parents are welcome to attend
    • Gumbuya World periods 2 – 5
    • Payment & consent due Friday 6th September
  • VCE recommended classes
    • VCE classes will continue to run from Wednesday 23rd October to Monday 28th October
    • Classes are not compulsory but are highly recommended
    • NB: VCE VM students may be required to come in during this time if they have not submitted all assessment tasks or have not finished their VET course
  • VCE English Exam
    • Tuesday 29th October (9 am Koo Wee Rup Community Centre)
  • Remaining VCE Exams
    • Wednesday 30th October – Tuesday 19th November (Koo Wee Rup Community Centre)
  • VCE Results & ATAR
    • Thursday 12th December (7 am)
  • Year 12 Valedictory
    • Friday 13th December
    • Information will be available soon
  • ​VCE December Offer Round
    • Monday 23rd December

Information relating to students completing an unscored VCE

  • For a student to be deemed an unscored VCE, they must submit the appropriate form by the first week of September
  • Students are not required to complete Unit 3-4 Trial exams
  • Students are not required to attend in Term 4 unless they need to complete redemption task/s
  • Students are welcome and encouraged to attend school on Monday 21st October, to attend the unique program in the afternoon
  • Students may attend school on Tuesday 22nd October for Celebration Day

NB: Any student completing the English exam is required to complete the Trial exam on Friday 20th September. They must also attend all English classes in Term 4 before the exam. We look forward to supporting and celebrating with you and your child in the months ahead. Career News Updates

The Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) are running several webinars to support Year 12 students through the process of tertiary applications. Parents/carers may wish to participate with their child. 

 

VTAC also have a dedicated You Tube channel. This is another useful tool for understanding the VTAC process. 

 

Year 12 students can also book a 1:1 meeting with a member of the Careers Team in Term 3.
