VOCABULARY

Rhyme

Rhyme is a word, syllable, or line that has or ends with a sound that corresponds to another.

"balloon rhymes with moon"

Poem

A piece of writing that expresses feelings and ideas by giving particular attention to word choices rhythm, and imagery.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Children to list as many words as they can that rhymes with 

-cat

-cake

-moon

-sun

Students then attempt to create two lines that rhyme.

Example:

The lazy blue eyed cat

Sat on the green fluffy mat
