Beyond the Classroom

Federation Cup Debating

Congratulations to the Calrossy Debating Team who were recently crowned joint Champions of the 2024 Federation Cup Competition. Calrossy hosted debaters from The Armidale School, McCarthy Catholic College and Farrer in the final round of the Inter-School competition.

The Stage 4 Debaters Scarlett Schultz, Mia Scott, Joey Mathew, Ava Harding and Lauren Sharkey finished second to Farrer, while our Stage 5 side consisting of Charlotte Anderson, Max Brown, Jemma Carr, Amelia Chambers, Bronte Gillan and Sebastian Suesser-Shaker remained undefeated and finished overall Champions. The Stage 6 Team consisted of Mia Jackson, Ella McWilliam, Luke Suter, Annabel Scott and Alistair Scott. They won two of their four rounds up against some very good competition. At the end of the night and after fierce competition, Calrossy and TAS were crowned the joint Champion Schools.

A special thanks to the students who volunteered their time to act as ushers and timekeepers for the event.
