On Monday, 25 March, we had a number of swimmers compete at the Sydney Swimming Championships held at SPOAC, Homebush - Solomon Freeman, Otis Jessop, Jesse Stone, William Thompson, Madelyn Watts and Bryson Bagnall. All swimmers performed at an exceptionally high level and with the fierce competition, both Solomon and Otis were successful in qualifying for the CCC Swimming Championships.
At the CCC Swimming Championships, Otis swam incredibly well in both his 50m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly events and narrowly missed selection for the All Schools Championships. Solomon had to be selective as he had a big program of events and came away with 2 x GOLD in the following events:
200m Freestyle - 1.57.71
100m Butterfly - 58.23
Solomon now qualifies for the NSW All Schools Championships. Good luck
Congratulations to all grade sports competing and representing the school with distinction this Term in hotly contested water-polo, touch football and basketball. Our senior boys touch football were the only team who made the semi-finals but went down to an extremely strong Revesby team.
Sport trials for Term II were held in week 9 with many students trialling for representative teams. Unfortunately due to the size of Conference 3, we can only nominate one team for each sport but I’m proud to have teams representing the various sports and divisions:
At this stage, we have approximately 75 students representing the school each week. Good luck to all students in these teams.
It is a requirement for all Football players to bring boots and shin pads to each and every game.
Students will also be loaned a college sports jersey for which they are responsible for and must wash after each game. The jersey is to be returned to Mr Smith at the completion of their competition (end of Term II).
Congratulations to Lachie Targett who raced in the Australian Championships - Super Sprint Distance Triathlon on the weekend and came away with a win in the 13-15 Age Group. This sprint distance race consisted of a 300m swim, 10km bike, 2.5km run. This is an amazing achievement as he is only 13 years old and is competing against competitors a full year older than him. Congratulations.
