Gifted and Talented

Sixteen Year 7 students proudly represented our College at the Da Vinci Decathlon held at The Illawarra Grammar School on Wednesday. The competition tested their skills in a wide range of areas, including Mathematics, Engineering, English, Poetry, Art, Code-breaking, Creative Production, and Legacy.

Embracing the challenge with enthusiasm, the students demonstrated their talents across the various disciplines. I am grateful to Mrs. Randall, who joined me in accompanying the team. Teachers take an active role in the day marking and judging the challenges.

Congratulations:

THRIVE HSC Forum

This week Year 12 welcomed back eight alumni from various graduating classes who have moved onto a variety of different careers. Each of them shared their story, offered advice and hopefully some inspiration to our current students as they move closer to completing their own HSC journey. We are very grateful to the following ex-students:

Bianca Casarotto (2016) - Graphic Design/Branding and Set Design

Zack Pontey (2022) - Bachelor of Business and a recipient of the PCA Scholarship

Charlie Hallam (2023) - Olympic hopeful and Medical student

Michael Hughes (2019) - Theology/ Historical Travel

Angelina Martin (2020) - Freelance Theatrical Hair and Makeup

Joel Hayne (2018) - Graphic Design and swimming instructor

Peter Oglos (2018) - Journalism and Media

Thomas Chivers (2019) - Teaching and Lasallian leadership

Thank you to Mrs Kennedy and Ms Gamsagaran for their assistance in organising this event.

Year 12 holiday plans

A balance of rest and relaxation along with a slow and steady commitment to revision is the recipe for success these holidays. Ensure you do get out and enjoy the fresh air and spend quality time with your family and friends. However at this stage of your HSC journey it would be foolhardy to clock off completely for two weeks. These holidays are the perfect opportunity to consolidate your term 1 class notes and study notes as well as continue to work through past HSC papers.
