From the

Leader of Year 11 Wellbeing

Mr Peter Robertson

Well, we have made it to the end of Term 1 and everyone can look forward to a well deserved two week break. Year 11 is now one third of the way through their Preliminary course and has successfully navigated its first senior Assessment Block. Congratulations to the huge majority of the cohort who have been focused and well prepared for the exams and we look forward to seeing some promising results coming through early next term.

Speaking of Term 2, we resume classes on Tuesday, 30 April (Monday is a Staff Development Day). All students must be in full College winter uniform with hair and grooming impeccable. There will be many opportunities to get involved in co/extra-curricular activities and leadership throughout the term and I encourage all Year 11 students to step up and embrace this time in their schooling life before the real pressures of the HSC begin.

I was very pleased to be told by Mr Smith, our Leader of Sport, that there had been such an enthusiastic response to the Grade Soccer ( Football ) trials. St Aloysius will be fielding both a boys and girls senior team for the inter-school competition. In addition, there will be a girls Netball team and Cross Country and Athletics championships. This is great news!

I wish all Year 11 students (and their families) a relaxing holiday, ready to come back and build on what they have achieved so far this year. Some of our young men and women will no doubt be disappointed with their academic results but this also presents a chance for reflection and a conversation about goals and priorities. A Parent/Teacher Night will be held during the term to allow these important discussions to take place.

Until then, enjoy the cooler weather at this, the best time of the year.

Mr Peter Robertson
