Term 1, Week 7
Dear Parents and Carers,
Our Lady’s are blessed to have such dedicated and passionate teachers who ensure that our students are engaged with their learning and build positive relationships so that students feel happy and safe coming to school. I’d like to share with you an article that has been published in the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Magazine about one of our teachers Mrs B. Helena is a very passionate music teacher who can literally make music from anything. She dedicates her time to our school choir and attends many events on weekends when our school choir is performing. During her music lessons she provides endless opportunities for our students to shine and express their musical talents. Here is the article:
Today our Year 6 leaders attended Mass at St Patrick’s Cathedral to acknowledge Catholic Education Week. This year's theme is 'In the light of Christ'. The theme explores how Christ inspires the lives and purposes of Catholic educators in Catholic schools. Many schools from the Melbourne Archdiocese gathered together to celebrate our Catholic identity.
Canteen Update: Due to limited staffing over the next 2 weeks our canteen menu has needed to be reduced. Please check COMPASS for the updated menu items that will be available. Also just a reminder that only icy poles will be sold during break times. All other snacks need to be purchased via COMPASS orders.
Next week we celebrate Harmony Day, the theme for this year is 'Everyone Belongs'. It is a time when we remember and acknowledge the people of many nations who have made Australia their home. Harmony Day is a time for all Australians to remember and respect our diverse cultural backgrounds and to share what we have in common.
Our Year 5 students are off to camp next week to Don Bosco Camp at Safety Beach on the Mornington Peninsula. Camps provide our students with an opportunity to interact with their peers and teachers in a different environment outside their structured school setting. They are also a great opportunity for students to step out of their comfort zones and participate in fun team building activities. Let’s hope the weather holds up and no rain!!!
Prep Enrolments 2025: If you have a child intending to commence school next year , please collect an enrolment form from the School Office.
Don't forget to wear something purple on Fridays with your gold coin donation for our Project Compassion Box.
School Calendar: Please check the School Community Calendar Page for important upcoming events, term dates & school closure days.
Take care
Cinzia Mancuso
Acting Principal
