Wonderful 1/2

0ne-two-rful 1/2s

Term 1 Week 6 2024 -  Friday 8th March.

What have we been up to?

We are approaching our last week of term and are getting excited for the Easter holidays.

During the past two weeks students have been looking into sentence structure, verbs, adverbs, adjectives and conjunctions to improve their writing skills. The students have been focusing on using these aspects to expand their sentences to make their writing more engaging. Students have read the book ‘Sam’s Bush Journey’ by Sally Morgan. This book is about a boy who Grandma teachers him to love the bush and the book includes beautiful Indigenous illustrations. Students have been breaking down the different features of the book and using the author's writing to write their own stories.

Students have been loving math groups and finding it very engaging. They have started learning about Time with a focus on duration, seasons, days of the week and months.

Readers have now been sent out. Students must bring a folder to be able to take a book home and can change them each week. These books may seem easy, this is because they include the sounds that they have already learnt and these books allow them to master these sounds before moving on. Please keep reading other books at home too.

Have a lovely holiday break and we will see you next Term!

Here are some photo highlights from the fortnight that was!

1/2A - Students participated in a First Aid lesson.

1/2B - Have been playing group games as a brain break
