Year 9 Work Experience
From Monday 27 to Friday 31 May 2024, Year 9 students participated in Work Experience. Most of the Year 9 students were able to complete their Work Experience but some caught COVID-19 or became unwell to go, so some of them did their work experience in the term break.
Cheyenne worked at the Inglewood Neighbourhood House doing some cleaning, putting books away and designing posters.
Lucy worked at the Inglewood Pharmacy putting products on the shelves and minding the counter.
Kaitlyn will be working at the Inglewood Hospital in the near future experiencing different areas around the hospital.
Olivia worked on a sheep farm and helped run errands around.
Emily worked at Randall's Foodworks, Wedderburn putting food on shelves.
Aidan worked at the Wedderburn Pub, serving meals to tables and doing dishes.
Jamie worked at Inglewood IGA in the deli section.
Tate worked at H Block Earthwork, Inglewood helping out on building sites.
Ashton to work at an engineering firm at a later date.
Kayla was to work at Wedderburn Produce and Garden.
Max worked at O’Connor’s, St Arnaud helping to fix heavy machinery.
Dylan worked at Titan Opole, Wedderburn, assembling parts.
Jake worked at John Mc Clean Electrical Contractor, Bendigo assisting with electrical repairs.
Hannah worked at Inglewood Primary School moving around three different classrooms and sitting in on some staff meetings.
If you asked any of the Year 9 class they would all say 'yes' for doing work experience again. We all really liked it and thought it a great experience. We would like to say a big thank you to all the local and regional businesses who hosted us on work experience; also to Mrs Woodman and Robyn for making it possible.

Year 10 Work Experience
On the second last week of Term 2, all the Year 10 students got the opportunity to attend different workplaces that they felt passionate about or wanted to explore. The students met new people and experienced a structured workplace environment, most of the students were offered jobs/ placements or the chance to come back.
Dakota worked at St Arnaud Veterinary Clinic, sitting in on consultations and learning about animal care.
Chanelle worked at Bendigo FoodShare, harvesting cabbages and cauliflower at Bendigo Fresh. She helped sort vegetables that were potentially going to go to waste but were able to be used for human consumption.
Jordan worked at Mt Alexander Shire in Castlemaine and assisted the Parks and Gardens team.
Tyson worked at W.S. and S.J. Springthorpe Plastering, Swan Hill where he mixed powder with water to make the plaster which was a messy job.
Jade worked at Brian V. O'Haire Solicitor in Robinvale, some of her daily tasks were typing final letters for estates.
Will worked at Harrisons 4WD Center Bendigo, servicing 4WD drive vehicles. He also experienced what it was like to install a lift kit.
Ollie worked at Wedderburn Hardware, learnt how to balance the till and closing up the shop at the end of the day.
Lillie worked at Inglewood Preschool, setting up different games and toys for the children.
Keysya worked at Charlton Shining Bright Early Years, taking care of the children and learnt how important it is to get to know each child individually.
Mia worked at Terry White Pharmacy, Castlemaine helping manage prescription dispensing and give customer service.
Jason worked at Ferguson Motors Bridgewater, assisting with changing oil in cars.
Indi worked at Inglewood and District Health Services, she assisted with strength training, and saw what is involved with district and general nursing.
Deacon worked at Wedderburn Tyre Service, speaking to customers and changing tyres.
Aaron worked at Inglewood IGA, stacking shelves and helping customers.
Jorja worked at Bendigo Health/Golden Oaks Nursing Home, transferring clients to different wards. Also assisting with morning and lunch medication deliveries.
Lexie worked at Inglewood Primary School, assisting and interacting with students.
Noah worked at Turf Engineering, assembling, and packing of machines that are used on bowling greens all around Australia.
We would like to thank Wedderburn College for the opportunity to do work experience and also to the many businesses who were our hosts. We were all pretty nervous at the beginning but were much more confident by the last day of our experience.
