Today we had the Deputy Premier of Victoria/Education Minister Mr Ben Caroll M.P., Miss Martha Haylett M.P., member for Ripon come and conduct a school inspection of the current building works. After the tour Mr Caroll spoke to the students in a brief assembly at Donaldson Park. Mr Caroll was very impressed by the staff and students of Wedderburn College.
Coming soon combining with the end of the Reading Olympics.
Special events and awards to celebrate the Reading Olympics finish and Para Olympics. Our Reading Olympic Patron Stuart Tripp will be in attendance.
On the 1st of July 2025 it will be 160 years to the day when a school officially opened in Wedderburn. The 160 Years of Education will be celebrated the last week of Term 2, 2025 with a variety of activities across the week to embrace this monumental occasion. One of the key features of the celebrations will be the launch of a hard cover, 200 page, coffee table recipe & history book. We are now calling on families to submit their favorite recipes or Grandmas greatest hidden secrets to be considered for publication in this important book. Please understand that we are happy to take several recipes from families and community members, however it will not be possible for every recipe to be published. Not everyone will have a recipe published. We have the rest of this term to submit recipes. Please use the format attached to submit your recipes, see below.
Well done to the organisers, participants and spectators with another successful running of the annual Athletic House Sports at the revamped Donaldson Park. After a few weeks of illness hurting the numbers of students in attendance many students soldiered on to earn points for their houses. After enjoying a delicious BBQ lunch skillfully managed by the school catering team and a Coffee to Di For we had a successful day with Jacka House taking the honors in both the Juniors & the Seniors. This means the 'House of the Year' series is tied at two wins each for the year. The decider will be the best reading house who takes home the reading Olympic crown.
GO JACKA!!!
As advertised on the school calendar we were to have a mini Olympics in two weeks. We already have had a dress up as an Olympic sports star as part of the Year 9 students raising funds for IDHS and with the KLC out of action we have scaled things back. I will be running a mini 'brain' Olympics with primary students on the Friday 16th during 3B the last period.
We have received some concerns from visitors and parents about the lack of car-parking.
Please see new car parking arrangements below.
