Literacy buddies

We've had some exciting developments recently! We've formed a partnership with ARDOCH, a charity dedicated to improving educational outcomes for children.

Through this collaboration, we've involved a select group of 25 students from grades 3 to 6 in the Literacy Buddies program, which is part of our Skye News Inspire group. This program provides students with the chance to engage in letter-writing correspondence with a local workplace. This year, we've been paired with the CORRS Chambers Westgarth law firm, located in the heart of the city. 

The program offers students valuable opportunities to connect with the community, learn about various careers, and apply their writing skills, including sentence structure, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

We were also thrilled to host our Big Buddies at Skye Primary School last week. The students had a great time showing their buddies around the school, playing games, and enjoying morning tea together in our wonderful library space.
