Year 5 Highlight

In the last week of Term 2, the Year 5 students persuaded Julie, Mat and Chris with their persuasive texts to let them have their own ‘Yes Day”. The day begun with excitement as all students entered school in casual clothes, eager to dress up the Year 5 teachers in sports attire, crazy wigs and accessories.

Students begun the morning making sherbet to which they all described as being disgusting and sour! They then had the opportunity to partake in activities of their choosing such as outside play, watching a movie and playing games on the Nintendo Switch. All students were highly engaged as they knew the teachers could not say NO. At lunchtime, the Year 5 students were given a treat of Pizza! This made their energy levels increase even more!

After snack, it was teachers vs students Dodgeball and Hide and seek. It did not take long before all of the teachers were out and the students had declared victory in Dodgeball. In a game of Hide and seek, students often targeted the teachers, until Nick and Emily thought it be a good idea to hide in garbage bags near the bins. This idea was found to be amusing by the students that eventually found them!

Well done to all the Year 5 students for their amazing work on their Term 2 persuasive texts. The Year 5 teachers were very impressed with your abilities to persuade an audience.
