The Power of Self-Control, Discipline and Commitment

At Good News Lutheran College, we understand the importance of self-control, discipline, and commitment to 'Creating Success Together'. These qualities are not just encouraged in the classroom but are demonstrated through our various programs.

An example of how these attributes contribute to great outcomes is the current production of Footloose. This ambitious project, featuring three shows and countless rehearsals, has brought together students from different year levels who are dedicated to creating an outstanding performance. The hard work and determination shown by everyone involved are truly inspiring.

Putting on a successful production like Footloose requires a significant commitment from our students. Balancing rehearsals with academic responsibilities is no easy feat, but our students have risen to the challenge. They have demonstrated incredible self-control by managing their time effectively and prioritising their commitments. This experience is teaching them the importance of perseverance and the rewards of hard work.

The journey from the first rehearsal to the opening night has been a test of endurance and teamwork. Students have dedicated countless hours to learning lines, perfecting dance routines, and coordinating with the cast and crew. This process has required not only physical stamina but also mental resilience, as they balance their responsibilities and stay focused on their goals.

Maintaining a balance between academic and extra-curricular activities is crucial, and our students have shown that it is possible to excel in both areas. Their ability to juggle schoolwork with their commitment to the production is a testament to their discipline. This balance is essential for their overall development and helps them grow into well-rounded individuals.

We invite you to join us in celebrating their hard work and dedication by attending one of the shows. Let’s come together to support and applaud the remarkable efforts of our students, who exemplify the values of self-control, discipline, and commitment that we strive to instil at Good News Lutheran College.
