From the

Dear Parents / Carers,

Connecting with the Community

At Rowville Primary School, we work to build a sense of belonging for all students and all families. Through participation in different events and learning opportunities, students, families and teachers become a part of something bigger together. A community.

In the past week, Rowville Primary School teachers and students have engaged with the community in many ways.

We had our incredible Italian Day which brough an amazing sense of culture, celebration and community to the school. What a joy it was to see so many parents dancing along during our special assembly to some childhood songs performed in Italian.

On Friday 2 August, Foundation students explored what it meant to be responsible citizens in their local community when visiting Stud Park Shopping Centre as part of their How the World Works unit of Inquiry. They practised greeting members of the community, asking questions and saying thank you whilst observing how a community works together.

On Tuesday 6 August, the STEM Working Party continued their partnership with King Kids Early Learning Centre in Rowville. They have been working with the Kindergarten students to conduct a range of STEM activities with them. This was their third visit to the see the kinder kids. On this visit they took a range of materials to construct towers. Each member worked with a small group of children to build the highest free-standing structure. Our leaders showed great patience and leadership when working with the younger children. They helped them to discuss the best shapes to use for a base to make their structure strong. At the end of the session everyone added their towers to a single point to make a tower that almost touched the roof!

Parent Opinion Survey

The Parent Opinion Survey is one of the ways we connect with our school community. A link to this will be available via a Compass post on Friday.

Kind regards,
