Dear BMGS Community, 

Welcome back to Term 3!  We hope you had a wonderful and restful break. As we embark on this new term, we are excited to share some key events and important updates with you. For your convenience, I have also included a schedule of events below.  

Key Events and Initiatives:

Introduction of the New Learning Management System - Schoolbox: We are thrilled to roll out Schoolbox, our new Learning Management System, designed to enhance communication and streamline learning activities. Training sessions will be provided for students. During the Term parents will receive more information in preparation for the parent communication rollout in Term 4.  

New Timetables for Term 3: Please note that new timetables for Term 3 have been published. Ensure you review them carefully and are aware of any changes to your schedule.  

Final Term for Year 12 - Trial HSC and HSC Major Works: Our Year 12 students are entering a crucial period with their Trial HSC exams and the submission of their HSC major works. Let’s rally around them and provide all the support and encouragement they need.  

Year 12 Valedictory Events: Several Valedictory events are planned to celebrate the achievements of our graduating class. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with our Year 12 students and their families.  

Rescheduled Athletics Carnival and House Sport: Due to weather conditions last term, the Athletics Carnival and House Sport events have been rescheduled. These events are essential for school spirit and camaraderie, and we look forward to your enthusiastic participation.  

Nagoya Japan School Visit: We are honoured to host a school visit from Japan this term. This is a wonderful opportunity for cultural exchange and for building international friendships. We extend a warm welcome to our visitors.  

Odyssey Showcase Night 2: Our Odyssey Showcase will highlight the exceptional talents and projects of our students. This event promises to be a highlight of the term, showcasing the diverse abilities and achievements within our school community. 

Mufti Days: We have scheduled 2 mufti days this term – the Ocean Clean Up Day Mufti Day and the Jeans for Genes Mufti Day. These days are always a favourite among students and serve as a great way to raise funds for various causes.  

Student Leadership Induction Ceremony: We will induct our new student leaders this term. This ceremony is a significant event as we acknowledge and empower the next generation of leaders.  

Year 10 Snowshoe Expedition: The Year 10 Snowshoe Expedition is set to be an exciting and challenging adventure. This experience will be a valuable opportunity for our Wilderness Education students highlighting personal growth and team building.   

Important Reminders:

Punctuality: It is important for students to be punctual to school, tutor periods, classes, playground duties, and chapel. Punctuality sets a positive tone for the day and helps maintain a productive learning environment.  

Uniform: Students are expected to adhere to the school uniform policy at all times. Wearing the correct uniform with pride reflects positively on our school community.  

Mobile Phones: We have a strict no mobile phone policy during school hours. Students must lock their mobile phones in their lockers at the beginning of the day and may retrieve them only after the final bell. This policy helps minimise distractions and fosters a focused learning environment.  

Behaviour Expectations: We expect all students to demonstrate appropriate behaviour at all times. Inappropriate behaviour will be addressed promptly, and consequences will be given immediately and recorded.
