Update from Daisy, our School Happiness Dog
Hello! My name is Daisy.
I’m a 2½ year old chocolate Labrador, and I love visiting BMGS to meet both students and staff. I spend my mornings with my tutor group, who enjoy playing with me, and I also love walking around the school grounds, helping the teachers with their tasks. My favorite job so far is playground duty, where I try to collect as many pats as I can.
Outside of school, my hobbies include swimming, going on long bush walks, and playing a good game of fetch. In fact, you might see me playing fetch on the oval. I’m really fast and great at bringing the ball back.
I’m training to be a Happiness Dog here at BMGS and also attend obedience classes weekly to ensure I’m well mannered. I look forward to visiting classes soon as part of my training to help students here at BMGS.
So, if you see me around, please come say hello and give me a pat!
National Tree Day
Established in 1996, National Tree Day has grown into Australia’s largest community tree planting and nature care event. The program is a call to action for all Australians to get their hands dirty and give back to their community. It’s a day to venture outdoors, get to know your community and, most importantly, have fun!
Thank you to Lachlan and Bruce from Birches of Leura who came to our Junior School in Wentworth Falls last week to donate and help plant a Kanzan Cherry tree. Lachlan is a passionate horticulturist and explained to our children the technique used to plant the tree and how it should be cared for so that it matures and provides a beautiful display of pink cherry blossoms each spring and stunning autumn display of golden leaves. A gorgeous Crepe Myrtle was also planted in our Junior School in Springwood.
