How we express ourselves
Year 5 - Term 3A, 2024
Factors within our environment can influence our perceptions and actions
As an International Baccalaureate world school, authorised to teach the Primary Year’s Programme, we explore six transdisciplinary themes each year.
Our next unit of inquiry explores the transdisciplinary theme ‘How we express ourselves’. Students will explore the various aspects that shape the way people express themselves. Students will investigate the numerous influences that define a person’s identity. From the communities we call home to the values and beliefs we cherish; every aspect of our environment plays a key role in influencing our expression. The students will examine current trends and significant news events and gain insights into what constitutes a reliable website and which websites to avoid.
During this Unit of Inquiry your child may wish to find out more about family history or other aspects of Australian Colonial history. They are encouraged to bring any artefacts or stories to share.
