Peak Pathways Visits WHS!
A collaboration between Country Universities Centre, La Trobe University & RMIT University
Peak Pathways visits Wang High School! Peak Pathways is a dynamic collaboration between Country Universities Centre – Ovens Murray, La Trobe University, and RMIT University.
Workshops have been co designed in community, to empower Year 7 students in regional areas to explore higher education and career opportunities through engaging, hands-on activities.
Last week, all year 7 classes enjoyed their second Peak Pathways session, called “Biz Brains”. The session focussed on enterprise skills and stages of production of an everyday item. In exploring the production of drink bottles students discovered the wide range of business skills and the numerous processes involved in making them, as well as the wide range of jobs in just one industry. The year 7s all received a drink bottle- if parents were wondering where they got them from!
Last term, students participated in ‘Job Jumble’. An activity that helped students learn about a wide range of careers while stretching their existing knowledge of employment possibilities. The Peak Pathways team look forward to returning next term to deliver ‘Sundae Smarts’ highlighting students’ strengths as they identify a broad range of their own skills and consider the strengths needed for different career options.
