In Literacy this term Students are exploring biographies. They are practising using appositives and adverbial phrases to add detail to their sentences. In the coming weeks, students will be researching an Olympic Athlete and using their note taking skills to organise information and follow the structure of a biography to share their findings.
We have begun learning about the Olympics this term! Students are showing a keen interest in the history of the Olympics and learning all about the different sports that have been included over the years. Students will have the opportunity to watch aspects of the Olympics and learn about the values and purpose behind the Olympics.
In Mathematics this term the Year 4s have been revising and extending their multiplication knowledge. We have begun to use our understanding of the connection between multiplication and division to solve unknown problems as well as various mental strategies to recall facts. Students will have the chance to showcase their learning by solving 1 by 2 digit multiplication equations, 2 by 2 digit and even 3 by 3 digit!
During our Resilience Project Lessons this term students have been practising mindfulness techniques and completed a yoga session in class. We have learnt about how to recognise anger and how anger can be linked to other emotions such as fear.
During Auslan these past two weeks we have learnt how to sign some common zoo animals and how to ask questions. Students have enjoyed being able to practice using these signs to communicate with each other.
