Junior School
LifeLink Light Display at Cathedral
On Thursday evening Mrs Allen and two of our Junior School prefects, Harrison and Riley, were invited to a service at St Mary’s Cathedral where they participated in a liturgy for the feast of St Mary of the Cross and then moved outside to witness a magnificent lightshow where some of our students work from their Lifelink learning was projected. Both boys were excellent ambassadors for Trinity and a wonderful evening was had by all. Please see the photos below and a reminder this light show will repeat for the next 3 nights from 7.00pm – 8.00pm.

Angelico Exhibition
Several of our students, including those from the Year 6 Art Extension group, have had their artwork chosen for inclusion in the prestigious Angelico Exhibition. A special mention to Year 5 student, Samir Munshi, who was honoured with an award for his outstanding work.
The Angelico Exhibition is named after Blessed Fra Angelico, Patron before God of Artists and is a significant annual event on the Catholic School Art Calendar. The exhibition provides a broad public forum through which Catholic school students throughout Western Australia are able to exhibit their dynamic artistic talent. The exhibition showcases both primary and secondary artworks.
We encourage our school community to view the exhibition and vote in the People’s Choice Award, see details below.
Venue: Forrest Centre, 221 St Georges Terrace, Perth
Exhibition Dates/Times: Monday 5 August to Friday 23 August, during business hours, 9.00am – 5.00pm
There is an additional weekend viewing session on Saturday 17 August, 1.30pm – 3.00pm for participants, families and community members.
Unstructured Play
Last week we were fortunate to have an exceptional talk presented on the Benefits of Unstructured Play by Dr Kelsie. An excellent focus on safe risk taking for our students so they build these skills and awareness before reaching the age of 17 and are out driving in cars and being put into situations where sensible decision making and discerning between safe and unsafe risks are crucial. We are very thankful for the Trinity College Parent Council in supporting this event.
Junior School parent Anne Almont shared her feedback from the talk.
“I thought I’d let you know how I incorporated what I learnt from the Unstructured Play presentation night last week. Nicholas was bouncing off the walls last Sunday, itching for something challenging to do. After speaking with Rob about the presentation we all headed to Ellis Falls. We walked steep hills, climbed rocks, breathed in the fresh air and navigated our way through rough flora for one and a half hours. Nicholas led the way exploring many remote tracks. By the time we got home he was a much calmer and happy boy. Thanks again for the opportunity to be present for such an inspiring talk from Kelsie. The content will certainly be incorporated into our family life.”
Curtis Aquatic Centre
The Trinity College pool will be closed for repairs and maintenance until the middle of Term 4. During this period, students will have land-based conditioning classes. Aquatics classes will resume in the pool later next term.
