100 days of Foundation
Last week, our Foundation students celebrated the special milestone of reaching 100 days of school. The day, organized by our fantastic Foundation staff, began with some slightly older Foundation students (think curlers, grey hair, and walking sticks!), a special lunch, and a celebration of all things 100. Congratulations to our Foundation students!
Responsible Pet Program
Our Foundation students participated in a Responsible Pet Program, an initiative designed to teach young children about the responsibilities of pet ownership and how to safely interact with animals. They very much enjoyed meeting Clover the labrador and her owner Pam.
Foundation Fire Fighters Visit
Foundation students enjoyed an exciting visit from local firefighters. They learned about fire safety while also gaining an appreciation for the brave work that firefighters do to protect our community. The highlight of the visit was when the firefighters turned on their hose!
Green Team Tree Planting
Our Green Team put their gardening gloves on and shovels to work to assist with the landscaping of Basil Park, a temporary park in Malvern East. The park will one day join the Gardiners Creek trail, but in the meantime, it will allow the local community to enjoy the benefits of a lovely open space.
Former Student, Stellar Barton's Olympic Dream comes true!
Former 2005 TPS student, Stella Barton who was born with cerebral palsy and is mostly confined to a wheelchair has had her dream come true! Stella began riding at the age of 7 at the Disabled Riders Association to improve her coordination and strength. A fortuitous meeting led her to strive for the 2024 Paralympics in dressage. After many years of diligent practice and overcoming numerous challenges, she has won her place in the Olympic squad to compete at the Palace of Versailles, Paris.
Congratulations to our Hockey Team!
Our hockey team competed in the Beachside Division tournament last week, securing a victory. They will now advance to play in the Southern Metro Region competition.
