Principal's Update

St Joseph's is a child-safe school.

We promote the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all students.

Good afternoon families ...

Foundation 100 Days of School

It's hard to believe our foundation students have notched up 100 days of school life already.  Today our youngest students celebrated the day by dressing up and parading as their favourite aged person, sharing 100 favourite or interesting items and finishing the day by being presented with a commemorative certificate.  A huge thank you to parents and carers for supporting this special event.

School Advisory Council

I'm pleased to announce the St Joseph's School Advisory Council Members who met for the first time last week:

Toby McMillan, Elizabeth Stoltz, Stephanie Freementle, Greg Heard, Jessica Booth, Anthony Capicchiano, Fr Brian Boyle, Julie Cornwall & Peter Teggelove.

The  Advisory Council is the Principal's leading consultative and advisory group, an active forum for parent and community participation, and provides support and advice in strategic planning and school improvement.  As outlined in the CES Ltd Governance Charter, Advisory Council members do not have decision-making powers.  The Advisory Council is intended to:

  • provide a voice for members of the school community;
  • actively support, in collaboration with the local parish, the Vision and Catholic Identity of the School/College;
  • provide input into and support for strategic planning and directions;
  • provide input and contribute advice in the processes of school improvement and school review;
  • support the Principal in meeting his/her responsibilities and accountabilities for educational outcomes, effective stewardship of resources, and annual reporting;
  • actively support the Principal in the encouragement of parent/guardian engagement; and
  • support the ongoing sustainability of the Council and its members in its succession and learning.

The SAC is committed to meeting regularly and will provide feedback from meetings to the school community via the newsletter.

School Uniforms - Update

It has become increasingly noticeable the amount of students who are not wearing the correct school uniform. I ask all families to ensure their child/ren is in correct school uniform  each day, or contact their classroom teacher if this is not possible.  I thank you in advance for your assistance.

Please note: Centavic Clothing has updated its price list - you can view the Centavic Website and price list here.

Kind Regards,

Peter Teggelove, Principal
