Week 3 & 4 Updates
We are thrilled to share the wonderful experience our students are having with the felting workshop led by Vivien, an accomplished felt artist, this week and next. As part of a whole school collaborative project focusing on wellbeing, inclusion, and our sense of belonging to the school community, students are learning the intricate art of wet felting.
Vivien, along with her husband John, who have generously donated not only their time but also all the wool needed for this incredible project, are guiding students in creating individual felt pieces. These pieces will be combined by the different year levels to form a beautiful mural, which will be proudly displayed in our school halls.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Vivien and John, who are the proud grandparents of Toren in Grade 1. Their dedication and generosity have made this project possible. We also want to personally thank the parents and grandparents who have given up their days to support the workshop.
This collaborative effort not only enriches our students' artistic skills but also strengthens our school community's bonds. We look forward to seeing the final mural and celebrating the creativity and togetherness it represents.
ALSO - a big thank you Matilda and Mary. These school leaders have been running Art Club under the big tree on Thursdays. Plenty of stunning paintings this week!
On Thursday 8/8, 37 students from our school choir performed at Melbourne Town Hall as part of the Boite Schools Chorus.
The theme for the year was 'The Children', and students learned 10 different songs in 10 different languages with meanings around sustainability and looking after the planet.
A huge shoutout to Virginia Nelson for volunteering her Friday afternoons for two Terms to help the students learn all the songs. Thanks to Andrea Radliffe for joining us to help out on the day.

Congratulations to the students who attended the District Athletics event. We are super proud of all the students for their efforts and determination.
The last two weeks have been jam-packed with Science Week preparations! A big thank you to our STEM Leaders who have worked exceptionally hard to create videos for our Science Week event on Thursday 15th August. Some junior students have been practising their paper plane making skills ready for Science Week. Students in Grades 3 - 6 have been learning about data and have collected and presented data in graphs and charts.
¡Hola familias!
For the last two weeks, our Preps have been diving into Spanish by identifying and naming the days of the week through the beloved story of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar".
Grade 1 and 2 students have embraced the Olympic spirit by exploring the various symbols of the Games and crafting their own Olympic flags using Spanish words and structures.
Grade 3 and 4 students took their learning up with a fun-filled Spanish scavenger hunt, uncovering fascinating facts about the Olympics while practicing their language skills.
Meanwhile, our Grade 5 and 6 students are building their Spanish skills in a truly creative way, as they embark on a project to construct a Spanish city in Minecraft.
¡Buen trabajo!
