School Sports - What's Happening

HEALTH & PE WEEK - NEXT WEEK
In the last week of each term, we have our school Health & PE Week. As part of our Health & Physical Education curriculum we will be participating in additional sport and health activities throughout the week. Students are encouraged to wear their sports uniform every day. Some activities students can look forward to are cross country practice, AFL kicking competition, netball, cricket, just dance, down ball competition, skipping club and our staff v grade 6 soccer match. We look forward to a great week to finish what has been a busy term.
PLEASE NOTE: Each morning, we do a class v class running club challenge, where we encourage students to run/walk laps of the oval from 8:30am to 8:50am. Our Grade 6 students record the laps of each class. PARENTS INVITED: This year we would like to send the invite out to any parents that would like to run/walk laps of the oval with us in the morning. We will record the parents' laps, and you can have some fun with your kids, challenging them and their class.
HOLY ROSARY SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY 2025
Our school cross country will be on Friday the 2nd of May. Foundation to Grade 2 will race at Holy Rosary. Grades 3 to 6 will compete in their cross-country event at the Botanical Gardens, along the creek trail. Students in Grades 3 to 6 will walk down with their classroom teachers at approximately 12pm. A PAM note has been sent home this week with further information.
If your child is concerned about the run, perhaps you could take them for a few runs in the weeks leading up to the event and help boost their confidence and capacity to complete the event. They have been given opportunities to practice their running as part of the PE program at school, however as we know, the more exposure we have to something we find challenging, the more comfortable we are with it. Your support in giving your child the best chance to be successful on the day would be greatly appreciated.
