Junior School Captains Attend PSA Junior Leadership Conference

On Thursday of Week 5, our four Junior School Captains attended the Empowering Tomorrow's Leaders Conference, a dynamic event for junior secondary captains hosted by the PSA at QUT Kelvin Grove. The conference provided our captains with an opportunity to engage with guest speakers, reflect on their leadership journeys, and set meaningful goals for the future.

A key focus of the day was goal setting, where the captains identified a 'problem' they hope to address within their school community during their time as leaders. They spent the day refining their ideas, exploring how they could make a difference, and developing strategies to 'fix' the challenges they are most passionate about. This experience equipped them with the tools to create a clear vision for their leadership path.

By the end of the conference, our captains left feeling inspired, with a clear ‘pitch’ in mind for how they could create a positive impact and drive change throughout their leadership roles. They returned to school motivated and ready to lead with purpose, determined to leave a lasting legacy for the next generation of Junior leaders.

We look forward to seeing how their goals unfold in the months ahead as they prepare to hand over the reins in Term 2.

House Week Highlights

Week 5 was an exciting and energetic celebration of House Week! The week kicked off with a fun Just Dance competition on Monday during break. Our Year 7s also got into the House spirit with a mini House v House competition on the oval during Connect, embracing the friendly rivalry and teamwork that House Week is all about.

On Friday, Freeman House hosted a non-uniform day to raise funds for Save the Children, and there were plenty of activities and stalls set up in the quad during breaks. Students had the chance to enjoy a variety of fun games, delicious treats, and interactive experiences, all while supporting a great cause. Although the final tally of funds raised is still to be confirmed, it was clear that our school community came together to make a meaningful impact.

House Week was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to show their House pride, have fun, and give back. A huge thank you to all students and staff who participated and helped make this week such a memorable success!
