Stay Safe and Smart Online:

National eSmart Week

Dear Parents,

Next week is National E-Smart Week. It’s a time to focus on building positive digital habits and keeping ourselves safe online. In today’s world, technology is a huge part of our lives, from learning and socialising to entertainment and creativity. That’s why it’s so important to be eSmart—to think before we click, be kind in digital spaces, and protect our personal information.

At St Joseph’s, we are committed to fostering cyber safety, digital wellbeing, and responsible online behaviour

Throughout next week, students will engage in activities that encourage them to:

✅ Think critically about what they see online

✅ Understand the impact of their digital footprint

✅ Learn how to protect their privacy and personal information

✅ Speak up about online bullying or unsafe behaviour

Families also play a key role in supporting eSmart habits at home. We encourage parents to have open conversations with their children about screen time, online friendships, and responsible use of social media.

Click on the link  eSmart - For parents and carers  which gives you the opportunity to talk to your child about what they’re learning at school in their eSmart program. There are many activities they can share with their family.

Below is one activity you can complete as a family, which is to brainstorm some ways you could improve your families tech balance.

Let’s work together to create a safe and respectful digital world for everyone.

Happy eSmart Week!

Kind regards

Megan Barber
