St Joseph's Feast Day
St Joseph's Feast Day was celebrated in style on Wednesday ! We began our day at Mass with Father Angelo who reminded us that St Joseph was a quiet, yet strong and courageous figure. He is a great role model for everyone in his dedication and love for Jesus and Mary. We marked the day gathering in our house colours and learning more about St Joseph. We then spent a wonderful time down at the Sorrento Park where we had our COLOUR RUN ! The students (and parents) had a ball and we are so grateful for all the parent help and support on the day.
Caritas
This Lent, we are called to Unite Against Poverty through Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion. By making a donation, you’ll be answering the Gospels’ call to care for our global family and walk alongside the most vulnerable.
Your generous support this Lenten Season will enable Caritas Australia to provide life-changing support to communities facing poverty, food insecurity, lack of education, and water shortages, while building resilience against future challenges. Together, through faith and action, we can bring hope and opportunity to those most in need.
You can support Project Compassion 2025 by sending money donations to school with your child to place in the donation boxes.
Sacrament of Penance - Thursday 27th March, 2025
The Sacrament of Penance will be celebrated at St Mary's Star of the Sea Church on Thursday 27th March, 2025 at 5.30pm.
The Sacrament of Penance is one of the seven sacraments of the Catholic Church and is offered to all our Year 3 students who have been baptised. The Sacrament of Penance is also known as First Reconciliation or First Confession. The students who will be receiving this sacrament are given the opportunity to say sorry for their mistakes and reconcile with God, the family and the church community. The Sacrament of Penance and continued reconciliation shows that:
- It celebrates the endlessly forgiving love of God
- It brings about the reconciliation with God which it signifies.
- It celebrates the change of heart of all those who turn back to God.
