Classroom News

This is what our students have been up to this week.

Class 1/2 with Kim amd Steph

On Wednesdays our year 1/2 class has Steph.  They have their library session with her and this week they utilised the space to work on their grammar sheets.  They also spent time out in the yard this week, using the sandpit to investigate capacity.

Prep-2

This week in Maths, students in Ellen's class were introduced to numeracy fluency tasks.  This year, all students will be using individual work pockets that wipe clean, allowing students to repeat an activity multiple times, in order to develop fluency in that skill.  The fluency tasks are based on the student's point of need in learning, and as they conquer one skill, they move onto their next learning goal.

In the shared P-2 'cave' space students have come together to build a well-being board, which shows students what our school values look like, and how they can demonstrate these.

They have also had discussions about their feelings and what causes our worries, big or small, and what we can do to reduce them. These discussions were captured in some 'worry monsters', which are on display in the cave.

Year 6 Buddies with Prep/1 Class

Today, students met up in the art space, to create posters with each other. Their posters displayed what they are interested in, animals they may have at home and activities they do outside of school.  This has been a great task for the students to connect and get to know one another.
