A reminder to all families that due to the Labour Day Public Holiday, there will be no school or OSHC next Monday, 10th March.
Our Preps have been settling in well to school and are loving spending time in the classroom and playing on the playground. Today, they spent time getting to know their Year 6 buddies.
From next week, Preps will commence full-time attendance. As this can be a big adjustment for some children, please speak to Ellen if you have any concerns.
Thank you to everyone who made time to participate in the Term 1 parent meetings. If you haven't yet met with your child's teacher, please make contact with the school, to arrange an alternate time.
On the weekend, Angela launched her first book, Mavis the Little Plane Spotter. We are excited to be adding this book to our library collection, along with a number of other new books, for our students to enjoy. Many thanks to Megan and Nicole for the work they do in maintaining such a wonderful library for our students to access. The teachers and students love spending time in the library each week, fostering a love of reading and reinforcing classroom learning through a range of literacy activities.
Our multi-purpose room is an amazing public display space, with which to share our student's creative achievements, and recently it has been transformed by an amazing exhibition of student art! Many thanks to Emily and Nicole for their enthusiastic collaboration and exploration of artists and art concepts, which fosters our student's love of this subject.
Yesterday Cleo, Luella and Ferdi participated in the Regional Finals in Shepparton. Luella placed 4th in backstroke and all students fought hard in a close and exciting race in the Freestyle Relay to place 4th, missing out on 3rd place by just a touch at the wall! Congratulations to you all on your achievement!
Families of students in Years 3-6 are reminded that on Friday March 21st, the Victorian Interschools MTB Race will be held at Falls Creek. Registrations are now open and can be completed here. The entry fee is $45 per rider, which includes a snack lunch, race plate, timing, insurance, and medals for the winners. While we will have a staff member in attendance, families are responsible for student and bike transport, bike maintenance, as well as ensure the safety and supervision of their child.
