YEAR 7-9 NEWS

Year 7

This week's year 7 assembly we talked about expectations and school values. Students celebrated international women's day and the girls received a purple donut each!

Well done Jack Hinge, Matilda Betts, Eleni Glikofridis & Alfie Mciver on receiving year 7 awards for demonstrating our school values.

Assistant Principal's Update - Week 8

Dear Parents Guardians and Students,

As we move into the final stretch of Term 1, there is plenty to celebrate and look forward to. Thank you to all students, families, and staff for your ongoing commitment to learning and upholding our school values of Inclusion, Responsibility, and Courage.

Student Conferences – Book Now!

Student conferences are coming up in just two weeks on Thursday 3 and Friday 4 April. These conferences are a valuable opportunity to discuss progress, achievements, and areas for improvement with teachers. We highly encourage all families to book in a time through Compass to ensure productive conversations about student learning and success.

Initial Assessments – Check Compass

Parents and guardians are reminded to check Compass for students' initial assessments across all subjects. These assessments provide insight into progress and areas for growth. If you have any concerns, please reach out to the subject teacher directly through Compass to discuss support strategies.

Attendance Matters!

Success at school is closely linked to attendance, and we encourage all students to aim for 90% or above in each of their subjects. Attending all classes ensures students stay engaged with their learning and don’t miss key concepts. Keep an eye on Compass for Green Chronicle entries, which celebrate students achieving 100% attendance in their subjects—this is a fantastic achievement!

Upholding Our School Values

We are proud to see students demonstrating Inclusion, Responsibility, and Courage in their daily learning. These values show up when students:

  • Try their best and aim high in all subjects.

  • Arrive on time and line up outside their classrooms, ready to learn.

  • Respect their learning environment by leaving classrooms as they found them.

Celebrating NAPLAN Success!

A huge congratulations to our Year 7 and Year 9 students for their outstanding effort in NAPLAN. We are proud to share that 95% of students successfully completed the assessments—an incredible result! Thank you to our students for their hard work and to our teachers for their support.

Year 7 Camp – Anglesea Adventure!

To our Year 7 students, we wish you all the best for your camp in Anglesea today! This is a fantastic opportunity to build friendships, develop resilience, and enjoy the great outdoors. Have a wonderful time!

Thank you to our students, families, and staff for a fantastic term so far. Let’s finish strong as we head towards the final weeks of Term 1.

Mr. Adam Ross
