The Intermediate Boys Cricket Team finished runner-up in the Whitehorse Division after being defeated by Box Hill High in the final.

 

Earlier in the day the boys defeated Koonung Secondary College. Batting first EDSC racked up a formidable total of 119 runs from 15 overs. Top scorers were Usman (33 not out), Sahil (25), Ammaar (22 not out) and Parth (17). In reply Koonung could only manage 71 runs with Abhinav taking 2 wickets for EDSC along with Asher, Jeet and Sahil all grabbing one wicket apiece.

 

Batting first in the final against Box Hill, EDSC could not replicate it’s earlier good form with the bat, managing only 64 runs from 17 overs. Parth (17 runs), Sahil (16 runs) and Abhinav (14 not out) the only batters to make a meaningful contribution. Box Hill made light work of the run chase, passing EDSC’s total in the 9th over with 6 wickets in hand. Asher the best of the EDSC bowlers nabbing 2 wickets.
