HARMONY DAY @ ST MARY’S

Next week we are excited to celebrate Harmony Week 2025! A special time that reflects the values of inclusion, respect, and belonging. Harmony Week is all about embracing diversity and supporting a sense of community, where everyone feels valued, regardless of their background. St Mary’s is a diverse and unique community and it is worth celebrating and learning from one another!

On Friday 21st March we will all take part in a series of cultural experiences and inclusive activities. All learners will participate in mixed age groups for 2 hours of the day, allowing them to connect with and learn from one another in a collaborative and supportive environment. These activities will help broaden their understanding of different cultures and ways of life while building empathy and respect for one another.

We encourage all children to wear a touch of orange or traditional cultural clothing to honour the spirit of Harmony Day. Orange represents social communication and meaningful conversations, and we believe it will be a wonderful symbol of our shared values. Traditional cultural attire is also a wonderful way for children to celebrate their heritage and show appreciation for the diversity within our school community.
