From the Principal

Dear St. Liborius Community,
As we enter the season of Lent, we take a moment to reflect on the opportunities for renewal, introspection, and community connection. We have an engaging time ahead at St. Liborius, and we would like to share a few important updates with you.
Beginning of Lent - Shrove Tuesday & Ash Wednesday
This Tuesday marks Shrove Tuesday, a day for us to come together as a community in preparation for the Lenten season. We warmly invite families to join us for pancakes and a cuppa before school, as we embark on this special season. Our lovely coffee van, Deja Brew, will be available for those wishing to enjoy a warm drink. Lent officially begins the following day with Ash Wednesday, a day dedicated to prayer and reflection.
Magnify Sandhurst Information and Q&A Sessions
St Liborius celebrates and nurtures the individual gifts of each child through a low-variance, knowledge-rich curriculum, guided by the research and programs that underpin Magnify Sandhurst.
Last week, all families received communication regarding our progress with Magnify Sandhurst and a reassurance that various elements of our community that make us special, remain. We would like to extend our gratitude to all the families who participated in our recent Information and Q&A sessions. It was wonderful to see so many engaged and enthusiastic about the learning at St Liborius. The conversations that were held were rich and reassuring of the values that make our school a nurturing environment for our students to flourish. If there are further questions that arise, we kindly encourage you to reach out to the school directly for clarification and feedback—we are always here to provide support and accurate information to our community.
Ongoing School Improvement – A Review Process
In line with our commitment to continuous improvement, we will be initiating a review process this week. During this period, three panel members will join us to explore various aspects of our learning community and gather feedback. You may notice some additional friendly faces on school grounds during key times such as morning drop-off or pick-up. Please feel free to share your thoughts with them; they are eager to hear your honest feedback, and we welcome your input as part of this important review process. A special thank you to the community members who have graciously agreed to serve on the panels - your support is greatly appreciated.
Community Mornings – A New Approach for Unit Masses and Class Meals
To better accommodate the needs of our busy families and enhance participation in special events, we are making some adjustments to our approach for Unit Masses and Class Meals. Instead of scheduling these events on separate days, we will combine them into a Community Morning. Each unit will continue to have Mass once per term, but we will also include a seated morning tea following Mass once per semester. We hope this new format will assist families in managing their many commitments while fostering a stronger community connection.
Enrolments – Spreading the Word
In the coming weeks, you will notice information regarding 2026 enrolments being shared within our community. At this early stage, we have already seen a steady stream of enquiries, which highlights the vibrancy of our St Liborius family. We kindly ask for your support in spreading the word about upcoming enrolments by sharing the information with family and friends, once it becomes available.
Celebrating 30 Years of Lisa Patterson and Denise Webb
As you may be aware, this year marks a very special milestone for Lisa Patterson and Denise Webb, as they celebrate 30 years of employment at St Liborius Primary School. Lisa and Denise are a true example of the strength of our community and the benefits of learning and working within Catholic Education. We thank Lisa and Denise for their genuine commitment to our school community and for the love and care they have extended to our families over the past 30 years. Their work was celebrated over the weekend as a staff, and throughout the local media. Thank you, Lisa and Denise!!
As we journey into Lent, we pray for peace, reflection, and growth. Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead and a peaceful start to the Lenten season.
With many blessings,
Alannah
