WHPS Book Week

Our WHPS Book Week is nearly here (Monday 10th – Friday 14th August). 

 

Students from Prep to Year 6 will participate in a range of activities to promote a love of literacy.

 

Each year there is a CBCA Book Week theme. This year the theme is ‘Symphony of Stories’. 

Author and Illustrator Visits:

Students in Prep-Year 2 will be participating in a session with author/illustrator Lucinda Gifford on Wednesday 12th August.

 

Students in Year 3-4 will be participating in a session with illustrator Ben Wood on Monday 10th August.

 

Students in Year 5-6 will be participating in a session with author Amelia Mellor on Tuesday 11th August.

 

We look forward to hearing about their inspiration, writing and illustrating processes and books.

Book Week Parade

On Friday 14th August, students are encouraged to come dressed as one of their favourite book characters and participate in the Book Week Parade

 

The Book Week Parade and Assembly will occur at 9am and parents are welcome to attend.

Class Activities and Open Morning

Following the Book Week Parade, students will go back to their classrooms and participate in activities associated with Book Week. 

 

Parents are invited to visit their child’s classroom as part of our Open Morning and join in with the activities taking place until recess. 

 

We look forward to some wonderful celebrations and seeing lots of amazing costumes at the parade!
