State Cross Country
On July 16, 21 of our students competed at the State Cross Country Championships held at Yarra Glen Racecourse. Although the day was chilly, we were lucky enough to dodge the rain, meaning the course wasn't as muddy as it has been in previous years. The students all seemed to enjoy the course. It was great to see parents and grandparents there to support and cheer on our students.
A special congratulations goes to our 15 Years Boys Team, who achieved an outstanding 2nd place. The team consisted of Josh Leutens, Ben Romanes, Coen Van, and Max Parker.
Congratulations to all of our State Cross Country team members on this fantastic achievement. Representing the school at a state level is something to be incredibly proud of.
9/10 Girls Regional AFL
On Friday the 17th of July, Northcote's year 9 and 10 girls' footy team took on regionals at CT Barling Reserve! At district they blew Tia, Lila and I away with their awesome skills and great teamwork! So, coming into this next round we had great hope and confidence in the team. We only had two games to play, versing St Helena and Hazel Glen.
The team had great coordination with each other and all us coaches could really see their skills shine through after the first bounce! The girls kept up a good fight but sadly lost both games. But they didn't let that affect them, they all left the ground with joy and satisfaction for how well they tried! Tia, Lila and I also had a great time and loved to be included!

Yr 7/9 AFL Regional Girls AFL
The junior girls footy team played in the regional competition on Monday 20th July. With a Carlton interim coach watching on and a former AFL games record holder coaching against us- it was a star studded day! The girls put in a great effort throughout all 3 games despite limited rotations, including a draw with Hazel The junior girls footy team played in the regional competition on Monday 20th July.

Yr 9/10 Boys/ Mixed Regional AFL
The Year 9 and 10 boys made their way to CT Barling Reserve for their division AFL round with coaches Charlie K and Ryan M. Unfortunately, it was a rough start for the boys losing to AIA in the first game. The losing streak stayed with the boys until their final game against Greensborough where they finally pulled together and were able to get the win.
The boys showed great teamwork and resilience throughout the games and enjoyed some sunshine as well!
