Congratulations to our Year 2 and 3 MiniLit students

Special congratulations to our Year 2 and 3 students as they graduate soon from the MiniLit program at CNPS.

We are fortunate to support our students at CNPS with an evidence-based, research-aligned program, providing dedicated time and practice to master essential literacy skills.

We are proud of the students’ achievements in phonics, spelling, and reading fluency. We love to observe how much you have grown throughout your time in the program. We are especially proud of the developments you have achieved in reading fluency, making reading and learning even more fulfilling.

We look forward to awarding you with your well-deserved graduation certificates at Assembly in Week 4 (Friday 7 August). Thank you for your wonderful company in our lessons. I will miss our time together.

Happy reading,

Julia, Literacy Support Teacher

Special thank you to the Hand family

Thank you to Chloe, James, Quincy, and Teddy Hand, for the thoughtful and generous donation to CNPS of resources to add to our literacy collection.

These will be put to very good use in our MiniLit program and early years classrooms. Thank you for your kind support of our school.

With thanks,

Brendan and Julia

Student Learning- Years 1-4

What a week we've had in 1R! We hit the ground running with our very first Kinect2Dance session and kept the fun going with an excursion to explore our favourite places in our local community. It was a week full of movement, learning and plenty of smiles!

On Monday, the Year 1s and 2s had their first Kinect Dance session. The students were fully engaged from start to finish, enthusiastically joining in with the dance routines and giving each activity their best effort.

End of Semester 1 - Inquiry Project Exhibition 3/4

In the final week of Term 2, our Year 3/4 students participated in an exhibition showcasing their collaborative projects on a chosen Australian state or territory. These projects brought together learning from our Inquiry unit, What Makes Australia Unique?, and our Science unit, Rocks, Minerals & Soil.

Working in teams, students researched a wide range of features of their chosen state or territory, including its flag, symbols, emblems, flora, fauna, motto, and the unique landforms, vegetation and wildlife that make it unique. Students demonstrated excellent teamwork, research skills and creativity as they shared their learning with families and the school community.

The exhibition was a fantastic celebration of student learning and a wonderful way to conclude Semester 1.
