Year 1/2 Cluster News

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Thank you for the opportunity to teach your child this year. Your kind words of encouragement are always greatly appreciated. It brings us joy to have seen so much growth in learning and friendships, as well as making many memories such as sleepover and special days. Thank you to all the volunteers who have helped make this possible and for all of you who have encouraged and supported your child throughout the year. 

We pray for a safe holiday break and a blessed Christmas and look forward to seeing lots of smiling faces again next year.

Here is information for the last week of school for 2025: 

Gifts of Grace 

Last day on Tuesday for donations to go towards a gift of grace for people in need overseas through Australian Lutheran World Service https://www.alws.org.au/what-you-can-do/gifts-of-grace/  

Unit of Inquiry Incursion ‘World Games’ 

Last Tuesday students from the 1/2 classes learned games from around the world including: an Aboriginal game, one from the Torres Strait Islands, from Hawaii, Brazil and Indonesia. 

P&F Science Show was lots of fun and educational today. Students said there were things they had never seen before and it was very funny and entertaining. 

End of Year Pack Up Students will bring home their books etc. as we finish using them for the year. 

Friday 5th December 

Reports will be available for viewing on Toddle.  

Students will also know which class they will be in next year and which teacher/s they will have. This is a good opportunity to set your child up for success by reminding them that all feelings are ok and highlight the things that will stay the same e.g. friends are still there, routines in the classroom are similar, we use Kimochis across the school, school events etc. 

Monday 8th December 

Move up Morning: students spend the morning until recess meeting their new class teachers and peers for 2026.  

Information about a pizza lunch has been sent out, however the cutoff for ordering was Wednesday 3rd December. Please still send fruit snack and recess for your child. 

Tuesday 9th December 

P&F Fun Day: a sausage sizzle provided at lunch time and a special visitor in the afternoon. Please still send fruit snack and recess for your child. 

Christmas Cards hand out day. 

Wednesday 10th December 

Last Day for 2025 

Closing Worship @ 9:15am before farewells and goodbyes at the usual time of 3:07pm.
