Kookaburra Class

Howdy 3/4 Families,

What a fabulous fortnight it’s been in 3/4! Our learners have tackled a busy couple of weeks with enthusiasm, curiosity and plenty of GRIT. We’re especially proud of the RESPONSIBILITY they’ve shown in catching up on any assessments missed, due to absences.

In Reading, we squeezed in a few one-off comprehension lessons between assessments, and this week we’ve happily jumped back into 'His Name Was Walter'. In Writing, our epic narratives are really taking shape, with some students on the verge of publishing their masterpieces. Over in Maths, we’ve worked through seven online tests — some stretching over an hour. Yet, we still found some time to explore fractions together. It’s been full, fun and productive and your children should be very proud of themselves.

Reminders for parents:

*20 mins of home reading Monday-Thursday or 1 minute Fluency (if they bring their text home) *Reading Diaries brought in Fridays *Drink bottles filled with water daily

Does you child know how to read an analog clock? Perhaps test to see where their knowledge is at as we start exploring time next week.

Congratulations to our Student of the Week!

17/11/25 - Jasper, for having Grit when learning how to follow class expectations and for taking Responsibility for your learning. I truly value your contributions and hard work, Jasper!

24/11/25 - Levi, for showing Grit when you redid your maths test. You have been taking more responsibility for your learning. Keep being your best!
