Coding with Indi Robots in Grade 1/2
This term, students have been learning how to use the Indi robots by experimenting, problem-solving, and working together to create their own colour-coded paths. They have been developing their sequencing and coding skills while also learning to troubleshoot when Indi doesn’t behave as expected. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they test ideas, fix mistakes, and celebrate their successful designs. H

This term, we have been learning to use the Indi robot with Mrs Spencer!! 😊😊The colour green makes it go, so you have to put green at the start. 💚The colour red makes it stop, so you put it at the end. ❤️Blue makes it turn right. 💙Pink makes it turn left. 💗Orange is a slight left. 🧡Teal is a slight right. 🩵Purple makes it stop and do a dance. 💜Yellow makes it slow down. 💛
I learned how to code and how to make patterns with the colours. 🌈When the teacher says “Indis up!” you put your Indi in the air. 💨🤖You press the back button to turn it on and off.
We respect the robots by holding them with two hands. 🙌They come in a suitcase. 👜 Inside there is a charging case, a normal case, a plastic bag of mats, and a tutorial book. 📕
We don’t lift Indi while she is moving. We wait for her to stop 🛑 before picking her up.Indi is a robot car that loves driving around all day. 🚘♥️

This amazing term we have been using a robot called Indi. She is so fun to use with friends!My favourite colour is purple because it makes her dance and sing a song.We protect our robots by not stepping on her and not pretending we’re a tunnel.
I hope you like my report!

This term our class has been experiencing the Indi robot cars.To make them work, there is an on/off button on the back. If you press it, Indi turns on, and pressing it again turns her off.
In the suitcase there are different colour-coded mats. Each colour makes Indi do something different. You place the mats on the floor anywhere Indi won’t bump into things, then put Indi on the track you created.
The suitcase also comes with a charger because you need to charge Indi. It already comes with batteries, so you don’t need to buy any.
You can make fun challenges with the mats. One game idea is the Emoji Game: you print two emojis, place them at the start and end, then design a track so Indi goes from one emoji to the other.
Make sure to be really careful with Indi so she doesn’t get damaged. 👌🏻🤖🚙And make sure to have a blast of fun! 👍🏻😆😁😄📱💻⌨️

This term, we have been using the Indi robots.Light green is for go, dark green is for slight right, orange is slight left, blue is right, and pink is left.Purple is for dance/spin, yellow is slow, and red is stop.
We respect the robots by not making tunnels, not dropping them, not jumping with them, and not picking them up when they aren’t still.
AMAZING THINGS WITH INDI!!!

This term in Digital Technology we have been using Indi robots.To make them go, you use special mats:
Green = go
Red = stop
Yellow = slow down
Blue = turn right
Pink = turn left
Purple = celebrate/spin
Teal = slight right
Orange = slight left
We respect the robots by not following them around, not grabbing them, and not picking them up when their wheels are spinning because they might break. Indi is very fragile and expensive.

This term in Digital Technology we have been learning about Indi robots and how they work.The mats are colour-coded:Green means go (and go faster), red means stop, yellow means slow down, purple means celebrate/spin, orange is slight left, pink is left, blue is right, and teal is slight right.
We respect the robots by not following them, not bridging over them, and not picking them up when their wheels are moving because they might break. Indi is very expensive and fragile.

Congratulations to our Magic Morris winners!
The winners for the writing competition to the memory of Morris, a CJC alumni who lost his battle with cancer in 2020, have been announced! It was a difficult choice, the submitions were outstanding. The certificates were offered and presented by Morris' parents. Congratulations to all!
Ortho'Bee, Teachers' Edition!
We all had a good lough at assembly when the staff members took the hot seat to spell tricky words in front of the students!
