Foundation
Over the past two weeks, Foundation students have been focusing on taking turns, sharing, and showcasing the skills they’ve learned throughout the year. They participated in a range of fun activities designed to build confidence, cooperation, and fundamental movement skills.
Year 1
Year 1 students have been revisiting key skills from this year and previous years, applying them in small group games and movement activities. They continued to develop their ability to work positively with peers while taking turns and sharing equipment.
Year 2
Year 2 students have been participating in “moving into space” activities with a strong focus on catching and teamwork. Students explored how to create opportunities for teammates and how movement can help them stay involved during games.
Year 3
Year 3 students have been playing Capture the Flag, working hard on teamwork, sportsmanship, and applying strategies to support their team. They enjoyed exploring both attacking and defending concepts in a fun, competitive environment.
Year 4
Year 4 students have been playing Tee Ball, developing their striking, fielding, and game-awareness skills. They applied these skills in modified games, showing great improvement in teamwork and positional play.
Year 5
Year 5 students have begun a netball unit focused on modified games that emphasise strategic netball play, including practicing footwork and holding their landing (not moving their feet). These activities are helping students refine decision-making, passing accuracy, and positional awareness.
Year 6
Year 6 students have been completing a range of modified netball activities aimed at improving ball movement, decision-making, and positional understanding. They demonstrated strong teamwork while applying strategies in fast-paced, game-like situations.
Staying Healthy Over the Summer Holidays
As we head towards the end of the school year, it’s a great time to remind our students and families about the importance of staying healthy and active over the summer break. Keeping good routines helps children return to school feeling refreshed, energised, and ready for a great start to 2026.
Stay Active Every Day
With longer days and warmer weather, summer is the perfect chance for kids to stay active. Riding bikes, swimming, playing at the park, kicking the footy, or going for family walks are fun ways to keep bodies moving.
Healthy Eating Habits
School holidays can be busy, but nutritious choices make a big difference. Fresh fruits, vegetables, wholegrains, and plenty of water help children stay fuelled for all their summer adventures.
Sun Safety
Please remind students to Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek and Slide - wear sunscreen, a hat, protective clothing, seek shade, and wear sunglasses when outdoors.
Stay Hydrated
Hot weather means children need extra water. Encourage them to carry a drink bottle when out and about.
Balance Screen Time
Holidays often mean more time at home, so setting healthy screen limits and encouraging outdoor play, creative activities, and family time is important.
