It’s with both sadness and immense gratitude that we share the last newsletter before Mrs. Pauline Long's retirement. While St. Joseph’s will miss her deeply, we are incredibly happy that she is now taking this wonderful opportunity to spend quality time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
For the past six years, Pauline didn't just work at St. Joseph’s—she poured her heart and soul into making it a better place. We have all felt her impact, not just in new facilities, but in the vibrant spirit and positive changes across our classrooms and community.
Pauline had an unwavering belief in every child. She championed their potential, introducing fun activities like the Spelling Bee and the Times Table Challenge, always ensuring our students felt encouraged to make the absolute most of their learning. She was tireless in creating those memorable moments, from organizing leadership days in Sydney to reviving our drama program with spectacular productions like The Wizard of Oz.
Her commitment wasn't just professional; it was deeply personal. She saw our school as the heart of the community. Through her efforts, we strengthened our bonds with home and parish, hosting Family Masses and ensuring our senior students spent valuable time with our local dementia group. Her fierce tenacity meant she always went in to bat for our welfare, successfully getting the Breakfast Club off the ground and securing the essential support of an onsite counsellor.
Pauline also had a visionary eye for our environment. She was the absolute driving force behind the things we see and use every day—from the amazing Veggie Garden and the much-needed perimeter fence, to the new Yarning Circle and Ninja Circuit. These improvements are tangible proof of her dedication.
Pauline, your lasting legacy is truly felt in the confidence of our students and the strength of our community. Thank you for your passion, your dedication, and for sharing your generous heart with St. Joseph's. We wish you a retirement filled with endless joy, relaxation, and love.
The staff, students and families of St Joseph's.
